Alarming Paul Pogba stat hints at lack of motivation after Leicester

An altogether concerning statistic surrounding Paul Pogba’s performance in Manchester United’s defeat at the hands of Leicester City this afternoon has begun turning heads online.

Daka & Vardy amongst the goals

Pogba and co. were of course back in action earlier on Saturday.

After slipping off the pace of the Premier League’s summit courtesy of just a solitary point from six heading into the international break, the Red Devils made the trip to the King Power Stadium, for a showdown with struggling Leicester.

When all was said and done in the East Midlands, though, United’s woes only continued to mount.

Another disjointed 90 minutes, during which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men looked like being carved open each and every time Leicester surged forward, ultimately culminated in a 4-2 victory for the hosts.

Goals from Mason Greenwood (in spectacular fashion) and the returning Marcus Rashford in the end proved little more than consolation, as the rampant Foxes ran riot courtesy of all of Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, Jamie Vardy and substitute Patson Daka:

Passive Pogba

In turn, on the back of the action coming to a close at the King Power, it has since come as little surprise to see the Manchester United faithful up in arms.

A whole host of the club’s stars have been singled out for criticism this evening, with Jadon Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire amongst those to have struggled versus Leicester.

None, however, has been the subject of more widespread condemnation than star midfielder Paul Pogba.

French international Pogba, fresh off the back of a Nations League triumph with his country this week, was expected to kick on to guide his side back to form on Saturday.

In the end, however, the transfer-linked 28-year-old proved one of the matchup’s poorest performers.

And, as outlined above, aptly highlighting the situation this evening has been the emergence of an altogether alarming statistic, hinting that those of the belief that Pogba is no longer fully committed to Solskjaer’s outfit may well be onto something…
